Animal Wellbeing Holistic Therapies

About Vicky Thompson

I am an animal therapist based in Surrey, specialising in nervous system–led support for horses and dogs experiencing stress, tension, or behavioural sensitivity.

My work focuses on helping animals who may be experiencing stress, tension, or behavioural sensitivity to settle, regulate, and return towards a more balanced state.

My Approach

Many of the challenges we see in animals are closely linked to how their nervous system responds to stress, pressure, and environment.

Rather than viewing these responses as problems to correct, my work focuses on understanding what the animal may be experiencing and creating the conditions for their system to settle and rebalance.

Sessions are responsive, unhurried, and guided by the individual animal. Nothing is forced — each response is observed and respected.

A range of complementary approaches may be used where appropriate, integrated carefully to support the session as a whole.

Background & Development

My path into this work began with a deep curiosity about connection, balance, and how animals communicate beyond words.

Over time, through both hands-on experience and continued professional development, my approach has evolved into the structured, nervous system–focused work I offer today.

I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of animals, each with their own history, sensitivities, and individual needs — something that continues to shape and refine my approach.

Professional Approach

I believe this work should always be carried out with care, awareness, and professional responsibility.

Sessions are delivered alongside your existing care team where appropriate and are complementary in nature. They are not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis or treatment.

My intention is always to work in a way that feels calm, respectful, and supportive for both you and your animal.

I am fully insured and committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards within my practice.

If you’re interested in booking a session, you’ll be invited to share some background information about your animal so support can be tailored appropriately.

Equine visits are available within approximately 20 miles of Ashford, Surrey. Smaller animals can be seen in a private setting, with home visits available where appropriate.

Alongside my work with animals, I also offer one-to-one nervous system support for people.

This has developed alongside my animal work and continues to inform how I approach regulation, behaviour, and response across both.

If you’d like to explore whether this approach may be suitable for your animal, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
